How can mindfulness help?

Mindfulness is the ability to be fully present and aware of what we are doing.  It is being more aware, awake and engaged in what is happening without judgement.  It is reconnecting with our bodies and the senses. You can also have a mindfulness meditation as they both enhance each other.  

What are the benefits of Mindfulness?

Mindfulness keeps negative thoughts away more easily.  This can help with anxiety, depression, feeling overwhelmed and can lead to overall health benefits.

It has also been found to help with negative habits, addictions, eating issues and can decrease stress levels, including lowering the levels of cortisol.

Pain management, chronic fatigue syndrome, insomnia can be managed through Mindfulness and studies show it significantly improves ability to perform daily activities with greater comfort.

Improve your concentration and focus by using mindfulness to tap into areas of the brain that may  previously have  been dormant. 

Using various forms of mindfulness may be the way for you or to help your client.

How and when to use with a client.

I often use a 5-minute mindfulness meditation as an introduction to go into hypnosis or during a Life Coaching session especially if the client is stressed or anxious.  This is because the rest of the session is much more focused.  I ask them to check their state of mind beforehand by rating it from 1 to 10 and again afterwards.  That way they really understand the benefits.

It can also be used in conjunction with CBT, breathing techniques and stretching to relax the body.  I simply explain to my client that it is a mind-body techniques that enables us to become more in tune with our thoughts and feelings. The area of the brain associated with positive emotions is activated.
